Cannabis clubs in Valencia

In Valencia a “cannabis club” is a private association entered in the Valencian association registry. Here is how they work, what the law says, and what that registry can and cannot tell you.

What the law says

No national law authorises cannabis social clubs. They are private, non-profit associations of adult members in a tolerated grey zone, and consuming or possessing in public is an administrative offence under Ley Orgánica 4/2015, with fines from €601. Membership is for adults only, usually on the sponsorship of an existing member, and each association decides whom it admits.

What the registry shows

The Valencian registry is the only Spanish one we use that records whether an association is still active, and only those marked ACTIVA are listed here. It publishes no statutes, so only associations with “cannabis” or a similar term in their registered name can be found; the real number is higher.

How the Valencia list was built

A registered address is shown only when it marks a ground-floor premises; otherwise the entry is listed without one. That gives 41 entries, 12 of them on the map.
