The biggest international cannabis trade fair moves to Bilbao for the first time ever. If you're a first-timer, here's everything you need to know.

Pro vs. public
Professional (trade) passes and public day passes are sold separately. Buy in advance — the on-site queue for day-of tickets can be brutal.

Academic cannabis conference at the University of the Basque Country, one day before Spannabis opens. Free entry. Science + industry networking. Worth arriving a day early for.
First time in Bilbao?
- 01Cannabis social clubs are private, members-only.They're not retail. Membership is invitation-based and typically requires sponsorship from an existing member. Don't walk up without context.
- 02Public consumption is illegal.Under Ley Orgánica 4/2015, fines run €601 – €30,000 for public possession or consumption. Consume only on private club premises, never on the street.
- 03The pintxos scene is the real city.Casco Viejo (the old town) and Indautxu have dense pintxo bar streets. Plaza Nueva, Calle Licenciado Poza. Go late evening when locals actually come out.
- 04Bilbao is small. Walk.Most of the old town, Abando, and riverside attractions (Guggenheim, Iberdrola Tower, Puente Zubizuri) are walkable in an afternoon. Metro covers the rest cheaply.
- 05Language: bilingual.Euskara (Basque) is the local language, Spanish is universal, and English works in most tourist-facing places. "Eskerrik asko" = thank you, always appreciated.
